An all new baseball-fans podcast from Scotland that focuses on the experience of baseball rather than the stats and in-depth analysis. Four fans, three from Scotland and a proud Yorkshireman, share their experience of following America’s game at home and abroad. The football loving fans from across the pond get into America’s game and seek to understand, explain and enjoy it from a lifetimes experience of watching traditional British sports. The Bullpen bros are rooting for the Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox. During the 2023 season we’ll bring you a regular review to help you not just understand what’s happened but importantly help you understand the simple yet complex game. We’ll give you our Heroes, Villains, Highlights, Fantasy Baseball update and our Triple AAA, Ask About Anything to help us all learn. The Boys from the Bullpen return for 2024 although sadly our Chief, Richard, is waylaid by work commitments.
Not to worry we are on our way back to the Netherlands very shortly for our annual football extravaganza. So importantly Yorkshire Dave is here to tell us about our trip schedule and of course which pubs and brown bars we will visit on the trip. Yes, he has a book to help these important decisions.
Highlander Alan chimes in with the smaller detail of the trip that will see us watch Top Oss, Nijmegen and Vitesse Arnhem. In addition to some important town facts we also remark on a poignant part of the trip where we will pay respect to a Highland League footballer killed in the Battle at Arnhem.
Keeping us up to date on the baseball front Young Dave talks us through the draft lottery, what, why and how. A recent addition to the MLB world and one that produced a quite surprising result in the recent lottery.
